WispOS

Your HQ folder

Your HQ is the folder on your computer where Wisper and your teams keep their work. What each file in it is, what the WispOS app shows from it, and what's safe to edit by hand.

Updated

Your HQ is Wisper’s office: a folder on your computer. You talk to her in the WispOS app; she and your teams keep their work here, in plain text files you can open in any editor. Nothing in it leaves your computer unless you ask for it to.

You choose where it lives during setup, and can change it in Settings → Folders.

README.md A short note on what the folder is

All of it is Markdown. The app reads these files and shows them; it writes to them only in a few narrow places (adding your request to the Queue, ticking an action item, answering a decision), and never deletes what’s there.

Wisper’s rules in your HQ

The manual (CLAUDE.md) a new HQ starts with gives Wisper five rules:

  1. A request you make is authority enough to do it. She does it, then says what she did, with the files she changed.
  2. Work she starts gets one row in the Queue, marked done only when it’s finished and checked.
  3. A question only you can answer goes into Decisions, never a guess.
  4. She writes inside the HQ and the project she was asked about, and asks before anything else on the computer.
  5. She never deletes what you made, and never puts a password, key or token in a file.

You can add to the manual. It’s how you teach Wisper the way you like things done in your HQ.

Editing by hand

You can read every file, and edit most of them. A few tips:

  • Keep each Queue and Decision row on one line. Their status lives in a comment at the end of the line; leave that comment alone.
  • The project list is a table. Add a row to Teams/REGISTRY.md to tell Wisper about a project anywhere on your computer.
  • Back it up like any folder. It’s yours; a copy of the folder is a copy of your HQ.
